Blackstar Trobbits

Item Description

When my memory works at all, it works in mind bogglingly mysterous ways.

I can go to the grocery store, and then stand there for an hour, trying to remember what I came for.

I have to have Yahoo! email me a reminder when it's my mom's birthday.

I look at pictures taken of me in the mid-90s and can't, for the life of me, remember where I was, or who the people in the photo with me are.

Yet when I came across these unmarked, thick rubber figures, somehow, from the dark, dusty recesses of my mind, I exhumed the word "Blackstar."

I was sure that what my brain was really thinking of was "Blackstone," as in "Harry Blackstone," as in "The Magic World of Blackstone magic kit that I never got for Christmas in 1983."

Still, with nothing else to go on, I entered the cryptic "Blackstar" into Google. Google didn't let me down. It came back with this site.

It turns out Blackstar is a TV show that ran for one year on CBS in the early '80s. Just like you, I have absolutely no recollection of this show, but it sounds pretty crappy.

These dwarf things are apparently called "Trobbits." Hahaha! Yes, Trobbits. Boy, somebody wasn't working very hard masking their "influences" that day. I don't know for sure, but I think these three characters might be named "Bildo, Fromo, and Pimpin."

And this orange dude... I don't know his story either, but the same flake of memory that knew these were called "Blackstar" also links this guy to the scene of the crime.
